On Saturday 7th December 2013 Iain Sinclair joined us in the gallery to launch the latest Goldmark publication, Objects of Obscure Desire.

Sinclair is a writer who needs no introduction: described as London’s ‘post-punk Pepys’, a ‘master of the literary collage’ and a self-professed ‘Travelodge tramp’, his previous works have varied from poetry and fictional prose to more recently diary-like chronicles, detailing frequent wanderings through and around the London suburbs he claims as home and muse. Sinclair read from his book and then signed copies afterwards.

In ‘a collaboration for voice, saxophone & sound design’, on Friday 6th December Iain Sinclair, John Harle & Daniel Harle also treated us to an extraordinary evening of spoken word and music.

John Harle is a saxophonist, composer, producer and teacher. His career spans over 35 years of performance and creativity at the highest levels. From a career as the most recorded saxophonist in the world to working with the greatest of musicians in several genres, his activities have taken him from the Last Night of the BBC Proms and the podium of the London Symphony Orchestra to record production on a number of chart-topping albums.

“Harle’s saxophone playing is one of the most remarkable phenomena on the contemporary music scene.”  The Guardian
